GenCook ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application ("the App"). 1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT 1.1 Account Information When you create an account, we collect your email address and optionally your full name and profile photo (if you sign in with Google or Apple). 1.2 Usage Data We collect data about how you use the App, including: scans performed, recipes generated, meal logs, shopping lists, and your nutritional goal and dietary preferences. 1.3 Photos When you use the fridge scanning feature, your photos are temporarily processed by our AI service (hosted on AWS Bedrock) to identify ingredients. Photos are stored in secure cloud storage (Supabase) and are accessible only by you. We strip GPS/location metadata from photos before uploading. 1.4 Subscription & Payment Data Subscription management is handled entirely by RevenueCat, Google Play, and Apple App Store. We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment card details or billing information. We only receive your subscription status (free/premium) and entitlement data. 1.5 Push Notification Tokens If you opt in to notifications, we collect your device push notification token via OneSignal. This token is used solely to send you app-related notifications. 2. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION We use the information we collect to: • Provide and improve the App's core features (recipe generation, meal tracking, shopping lists) • Personalize your experience based on your dietary preferences and nutritional goals • Process and manage your subscription • Send you push notifications (only if you have opted in) • Comply with legal obligations We do NOT use your data for: • Selling to third parties • Behavioral advertising or ad targeting • Training AI models (your photos and data are not used to train AI models) 3. DATA SHARING We share data only with the following service providers, and only as necessary to operate the App: • Supabase: Database and file storage (EU-hosted) • AWS Bedrock: AI processing for ingredient detection and recipe generation (data processed per AWS's Service Terms — not used for model training) • RevenueCat: Subscription management • OneSignal: Push notifications • Resend: Transactional emails We do NOT share, sell, or rent your personal data to any other third parties. 4. DATA RETENTION • Active accounts: Your data is retained as long as your account is active. • Deleted accounts: When you delete your account, ALL your data (profile, recipes, scans, meal logs, shopping lists, photos) is permanently and irreversibly deleted from our servers. • Photos: Fridge photos are stored securely and deleted when you delete the associated scan or your account. 5. YOUR RIGHTS (GDPR / CCPA) You have the right to: • Access: View all data we hold about you (available in the App's Profile section) • Rectification: Edit your profile information at any time • Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data at any time via Settings → Delete Account • Data Portability: Request a copy of your data by contacting us • Opt-out: Disable marketing communications and push notifications at any time • Withdraw Consent: Revoke your marketing opt-in at any time in Settings 6. DATA SECURITY We implement industry-standard security measures: • All data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS • Database access is controlled via Row Level Security (RLS) — each user can only access their own data • API keys and secrets are stored server-side and are never exposed in the client application • Photos are stored in private cloud storage buckets accessible only by the owning user • EXIF metadata (GPS location, device info) is stripped from photos before upload 7. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY GenCook is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it promptly. 8. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, providing in-app notification. 9.
